Meeting Minutes May 16th, 2009
Street Signs: We discussed putting up "Welcome, This is a Neighborhood Watch Area" signs on the streets.Grants: We discussed getting a grant for the purpose of acquiring street signs as well as funding a party in the park if needed; A neighborhood mini-grant was identified which would not be available for neighborhoods in the Northwest until 2010.
Sebastian Park: We discussed the city's plans renovate Sebastian Park. Many expressed concern that such improvements might draw more unwanted attention to the area.
PACTAC: Two of our neighbors plan to volunteer for Police and Citizens Together Again Crime. We would need a total of 24 volunteers; we would only need each person to participate for two hours per month.
Website for SCS: Jamil is going to setup a website for the group. It will contain meeting dates, minutes, and other information about the Sebastian area.
Meeting Minutes - July 18th
New members at our last meeting:New Neighbors of Planet Street brought us new information on a bike theft in the past month as well as mailboxes being damaged. They have volunteered to hand out flyers and updates to some of our neighbors who do not have access to a computer.
Our neighbor from Lexington Court has contacted the City of Rochester Department of Parks Lauren Nelson and has been given permission as well as the paint to paint the pavilion and kids toys in our Sebastian Park. He is doing this in his own free time if anyone wants to volunteer to help.
He has also informed us that they will be cleaning away the fences in the park as well as the brush as some of you may have noticed.
We got the grant!!!
